Stealing Competitors Backlinks – Part 4 of the Link Building Guide 101

When trying to get back-links there are some days when you know you have to get back-links for your site, but you don’t feel like spending the time to find them. If I feel this way I look at my competitors back-links and steal some links they have put there link on. I will show you how to do this, so you can do the same thing when you don’t feel like looking for back-links that day.

The first thing I recommend you do is install and use Firefox if you don’t already while doing search engine optimization. This will allow you to install a few plugins that will help you while doing search engine optimization for your website. The plugin you will need in order to do what I will teach you in this post is the SEObook Firefox Toolbar.  Once you install this you will then be able to tell some important information on a possible back-link such as the PageRank and the back-links the page has.  With this you will be able to figure out if it is a worthwhile back-link to get.

Now lets cover how to analyze your competitors and steal back-links from their site.  The first thing you need to do is search for the keyword you are trying to rank for in Google.  Once you do this go to this link in a different tab and then you can keep reading.  This will allow you to copy and paste the URL’s of your competitors on the first page and give you all the back-links they have.  Simply copy and paste the link into the search box and click explore URL.  Once you do this it will by default bring up the pages tab, but click the inlinks tab and then you will be able to see all their back-links.  Yahoo has ordered them and the best back-links to that site are at the top.  This is very convenient because sometimes you will be searching for a high link will sometimes you will be searching for a lower value link.

I hope you enjoy this method on how to steal your competitors back-links and will be able to use it for your website in the near future.
